What is Dark web, Deep web and Surface
web
·
The Internet which we
use or which is known as www (World Wide Web) is divided into three parts.
1. Surface Web: Websites
which are used by us or generally which are available on Google and it is only
the 4% of complete Internet.
2. Deep Web: Website
which cannot be access by everyone but they are present on Google. They are
present with different addresses or they are hidden. We can access those
websites but we do not know about them and some of them also requires
particular username and password to access.
3. Dark Web: We
can’t directly access to these type of websites with our ISP or through any of
the browser (Chrome, Internet explorer, UC browser etc.). These are also not
available on Google or anything.
We can access to these
webs as well through our own Internet, ISP and SIM only, which is possible
through some technology, algorithm, encryption and onion routing.
Generally when you
surf any website like Google they know everything about you or they do get all
your information which means nothing is secure.
ONION ROUTING
Onion routing is the method by which you can surf any
website anonymously or without showing your identity to that websites.
In onion
routing you surf websites with different-different VPN’s in the same
time so backtracking is not possible for number of VPN’s which results in your
identity is hidden or safe. But you have to use those VPN’s on your own which
takes too much time in loading a video or website and you will not get access
because of time out connection.
And for this “TOR” browser
is used, because it already has list of VPN’s and your IP also automatically
changes in sometime.
NOTE: TOR
browser is legal and developed
for protecting our privacy by hiding the identity and location etc. details.
There are some
websites by the domain “.onion” which you can access
through TOR browser only and not through any other browser.
Those websites are hosted websites means they are private. So when you surf
any “.onion” website through TOR browser your
identity is safe and no one can get your any information because of private
connection and you are surfing with the help of different-different VPN’s whose
backtracking is not possible. That’s why Dark webs can be or they
are dangerous and also many illegal works take place on it because no one knows
who is hosting or surfing the website.
So I suggest please do
not visit these type of sites. TOR browser is completely legal
and even sponsor by the Google and the US Govt. But still it’s not safe because
many illegal works like drug dealing etc. takes place in these sites or webs
because the identity is hidden. If someone is stopping you from visiting those
sites then the reason is that, professional hackers can hack you, because who
knows if you are visiting any site and that site only had hacked you..!
The complete network
is like open source. TOR is safe but some websites (unknown)
are not safe because who is hosting the site is anonymous and it is same for
all the sites in TOR browser. Facebook also has a domain
with ‘.onion’ which you can access only through TOR browser.
FACEBOOK DOMAIN: facebookcowwwi.onion
So if you want to
create a website with ‘.onion’ domain then that is also
possible and completely free as well.
Downloading and
Testing:
1) Firstly
you have to download the TOR browser from www.torproject.org .
The file will be of nearly 50mb something.
NOTE: i) Please
download it from the official website only because downloading it from other
websites can put viruses in your Laptop or PC.
ii) In some countries
the TOR project website is blocked or censored and it is not
possible to download TOR directly.
2) After
downloading, run the file and extract it. Tor works with different-different
VPN’s so when you start the Tor it will ask you to configure the VPN or connect.
Simply click on connect and it will automatically provide you the available VPN
and IP address of any country (which is fake and your real IP address is
different).
3) For
testing it there will be an option of ‘test for network setting’ on welcome page
of Tor. Click on the option and you can see your IP address (which is Fake
address).
4) Now go
to chrome or any browser and check your real IP address on Google.
5) To know
more about your fake IP address copy the address from Tor and check the details
of it on any other browser on google.
You won’t get any
single detail about it because everything is unknown and anonymous and this is
what the Tor browser is about “Privacy”.
TO CREATE
A WEBSITE WITH <.ONION> DOMAIN:
There are bunch of videos for it. Please check
any video because that is little bit tricky thing and video will make you
understand better.
